  • The student teacher will be able to learn about gender issues in school, curriculum and textual materials across disciplines, pedagogical process and its interaction with class, caste, religion and region
  • The student teacher will be able to apply the conceptual tools learn regarding gender & sexuality to understand issues related to sexual harassment at the workplace and child sexual abuse.


  • In the second year, there shall be a minimum of 16 weeks of intensive engagement with the school in the form of School Internship. Students will be engaged in school functioning in all its aspects in consultation with the School-mentor, like-

    •  Participating in various ‘out-of-class room’ activities in school.
    • Organizing events eg., cultural activities, debates, games, quiz, essay-competition, drama, etc.
    •  Preparation of School calendar, time-table, assessment schedule, evaluation tools etc. 
    • Preparing a suggested comprehensive plan of action for some aspect of school improvement.

    This course deals with philosophical and sociological issues and provides an opportunity to understand and reflect on the vision of education as well as cultural context within which education operates.
